Inclement Weather

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

With hurricane season now in full swing, this is a good time to remind you about the Hurricane Policy outlined in your parent handbook.  In case of an impending storm, please stay connected to your local news station.  First Baptist Preschool will follow Pinellas County School Board closing advisories.

The Pinellas County School Board makes closing decisions with the best interest of safety for your children and our staff.  Storms can be very unpredictable, and safety is a priority.  These closings take into consideration, the storm, wind, and flooding during and after the storm.  There might be times where you might think we should be open, but if roads are flooded it is still not safe for children or staff to be out trying to get to school or work.

Please remember, some school closings might happen while we are still asleep, sometimes right in the middle of a work day.  It is important to listen to local TV and radio stations.  The center will follow the Pinellas County school closing/opening procedures.

Please make arrangements for childcare PRIOR to a storm so that you are not caught unprepared.

If Pinellas County announces school closings or a tropical storm or hurricane warning happens during school hours, you will be called to pick up your child immediately.  We want to make sure your family and our staff is able to get home quickly and safely to our families.  Again, this is why it is extremely important to keep yourself updated on impending severe weather.  Thank you in advance for your cheerful attention to this matter.
